Touch me now with soft spring fingers
Fine tips of copper hue
Lustrous sheen of new growth on twig and branch
Last leaf rustling beneath my shoe
Wind whip whirl dancing leaf partner
Sun dapple woodland scene
Snowdrop mimmicks fallen namesake in memory now
Daffodil sprouting spears of green
Hedgerows now glazed green haze
Look along! Look along!
Hawthorn hedgerow baring fresh green mist
Rising sap fills leaf and bow.
Now winter wanes and Spring returns
Low sun climbing higher
Woodland shadows shorten at the height of day
Insects dance round Oaken spire
Soft the rain of spring falls now
Winters bite is passing
Sunlight glitters on fresh water pools
In flight birds sing the season in
So dance in joy of yellow and green
Let new life be your mantle
The Oak King rises in green wood now
As the Lady turns the wheel.
