A cheeky little wind
Blows a cheeky little curl
Across the rosy cheeks
Of a cheeky little girl
And in that sparkling moment
I see a mirror of our lives
All golden haired innocence
Because Paris is only five
Born at the dawn of the millennium
To parents who really love
A picture of an angel
A blessing from above
Born into a world
That is being torn apart
Where death and mayhem rule our lives
And the end has seen it’s start
For as the global dimming fades
And the sunshine crashes through
And all the polar ice caps melt
It’s too late for Paris, me and you
And now the Gulf Stream is slowing down
And the climate is changing fast
Will we die in ice age snows?
Or in a solar energy blast?
Paris cried the other day
I saw hot salty tears
My heart was rent for one child
And her innocent childhood fears.
How many more like Paris
Will shed tears before the end
For the sake of a greedy lifestyle
Even we cannot defend?
