POEMS

Echo -o- by Drew Hawfawn

Hesitant whispers lament
forgotten, sorrowful past.
Previously unheard echoes
gently resonate amidst
a flame-enriched crop
of roses: as every shower
caresses an immortal cheek;
another mirrored tear
tracks suffering's course
along fields of grey.
Unseen, ignored, suppressed
into a desperate longing
to be acknowledged,
before sadness consumes
a heart beginning to fade.
