WOLF

Firstly, I do not work in the kind of environment where being openly pagan would be viewed in a very good light, so you will please forgive me for putting a distorted image of myself on the page. People who know me well would still recognize me through the mosaic and the fog, but no one could definitely say it was me.

I have been pagan for the majority of my adult life and I am now in my mid forties. I live in the bible belt of the USA, so if you want to get on in your job you have to be seen to be at least a practicing Christian, but my heart is pagan.

My mother too was pagan and she faced the same problems as I do, although not to the same extent, her job did not depend on being a good little Christian. I can imagine some people reading this might be asking themselves how I am able to live a lie, and why don't I stand up for what I believe to be the truth. All I can say is that unless you have experienced what its like to live and work in this part of the USA, then you should try it. Its easy to stand up for your beliefs when your job and social standing do not depend on it.

So, I have never been to a moot, never met another pagan besides my mother and will never have the pleasure of wearing any outward sign that I am a pagan on the inside. I do though get some pleasure in spending time on such web sites as this one, and also reading in pagan forums like the one connected to this website. One day I might get really brave and join, but the idea of having to give my email address away is a little too big of a perceived risk at the moment.

I wish you all the very best in your lives and maybe one day, this kind of secrecy will not be needed.

Blessed Be
Wolf
