My faith is not something I take out and use on Sunday or any other special day, it is something I live 24/7. This does not mean I go around chanting and waving my pentacle, I simply try to live in harmony and peace with nature and all persons. I have not always been pagan, for the majority of my life I was a Christian, but in truth I think I was even then a pagan wearing Christian clothes.I try not to be high and mighty about my faith, to each of us we must find what is true to ourselves (To Thine Own Self Be True). But if asked I will stand up and proudly proclaim my faith. Paganism is such a wonderful, peaceful and gentle religion. The path that I walk is a mystical and magical one and something that has become so dear to me.
For me, my outlook has not changed very much from being a Christian to being Pagan, the difference is when I was trying to be a Christian I had to bend my faith in order to fit the straight jacket of Christianity, where as there is no bending required within Paganism. Being Pagan I am able to embrace my faith, my vision of my Gods, my vision of nature without feeling guilty that some of my views stray from what other people regard as 'normal'. But some of my truths still hold true now as a Pagan as they did when I was a Christian, the main one being that the highest value in life belongs to Love. So many Christians talk of a loving God, then in the next breath talk of this God casting you into a burning hell for eternity for not seeing God exactly as they would have you see God........ Hummmm I don't think so. If you are a Christian who is walking that tight rope between logic and this dogmatic view point as I once did, let me tell you that you have nothing to fear from a loving God, you only need fear extremist religious people of any faith, people who hide under white hoods, people who claim to act within the love of God, but are too blind to see that they are in fact the evil that they claim to see in others. Paganism also has its extremists, but thankfully they are few and far between, but again if you are new to Paganism, or are searching information on what is required to be Pagan, then let me put a few records straight, even at the expense of placing myself in conflict with the few extremists (or Hollywood Pagans). Don't take any notice of people who say that you have to be able to 'cast a circle' before you can claim to be Pagan. Before I continue I am not for one second trying to diminish the value or wisdom of searching deeper into the mysteries of the universe, but being Pagan from my point of view has more to do with embracing the Pagan law ' An ye harm none, do what ye will ', and loving God(s), nature and all living things. There is no spell that any witch can weave that is stronger or holds more magick than Love, no sermon that anyone can preach that has more importance than Love, no gift that anyone can give or receive that has more value than Love, and the wonderful thing is we can all try to Love all, and live in peace, and to follow, 'An ye harm none, do what ye will'. Love, peace and harmony first is what makes you Pagan. Magick comes second.
I have people that I owe my thanks to as I have searched my own path, but first and foremost I pay respect to the Lord and Lady for the peace and contentment I have found. To Jehra who taught me to find the path that was right for myself and not to necessarily follow hers. To my dear friend Willow who pointed me in the direction of my Gods and taught me to look in the direction of where her finger pointed, and not just at her finger, and lastly to Emerald^Witch who has proved to me that dreams can still come true and my path is wide enough for two to search together.
If I can reach out and help anyone who searches their own path, or if you simply want to talk to me, you only have to write to
"I am not skilled to understand what the God's have done, what the God's have planned, I only know that as I look around I see the works of my creator"
Brightest of Blessings
