'Gospel Truth/Pagan Lies: Can You Tell the Difference?'
By Peter Jones : Publisher: Winepress Publishing. |
I have only read part of this book, but enough to know that I am not happy with the contents or the title. What I ask myself is this. If the title was, 'Pagan truths/Gospel Lies:' would the book have even been allowed to be printed with that title? Short answer equals NO. Would a book with the title, 'Gospel Truth/Jewish Lies:' be allowed, again the short answer equals NO? Why is it that this title is allowed. Simply because we don't complain and demand the same rights as other religions, and because too many people think that paganism is a fair target. I feel sure for a whole lot of reasons these titles would not be allowed. So the reason I get upset is not so much the wording of the title, but the injustice, inequality and blatant prejudice directed at paganism compared to other religions.
This is a copy of the books description as used in its advertising:
'Gospel Truth/Pagan Lies examines five major differences between worshiping creation (pagan lies) and worshiping the Creator (gospel truth). If you are puzzled by today's spirituality, this book will help you make the most important choice of your life without being had. If you are a believer, it will help you share your faith in a convincing way.'
I have written to the publishers of the book only to get no reply. I have written to Amazon as one of the places where the book can be purchased, asking how they feel about such a title, again no reply. So maybe its time to send proof that I am not a lone voice.
